Altho this isnt visual artwork, alot of effort was put onto this on my free time. Pardon me that this is in Portuguese, but this pertains to our internall industry and i havent had these translated ( yet ).

In 2019, out of frustration due to the snailpace growth of our internal industry, i started to research and investigate my country ( Portugal ) Videogame industry production capability and how i believe that we can attract "big players" here, thus allowing the industry to benefit from external knowledge to its already present workforce. Doc 01 is the first introductory document i sent the ( at the time ) Ministery of economy and Digital Transition, whom the Minister was Pedro Siza Vieira. This apparently got their attention and we started to work in a collaboration to adress the issues and improving the overall investment\mindset of our country in this very lucrative Industry. Be mindfull that these are documents cant contain in depth technicall details due to the short nature of them, and that would be something developed during the "taskforce" work.

On this first document i reached out to CEO´s\Individual workers that i admired and thought that would contribute to valuable insight to this issue, but i wont share those signed testimonies due to me agreeing beforehand not to do it out of respect.

The main focus was that the government understood that we could work to avoid young students\professionals to leave our country in troves if we started to develop our industry with the guidance of big external professionals, kind of like John Romero did in Ireland. I wanted to avoid families and friends to be able to keep beeing here, in Portugal, get better opportunities and working conditions and a sensibilization program nationwide on schools to tell students "hey, this is a viable career!"

After our first meetings via zoom due to the pandemic i brough to them another document mentioning how we could get people from other areas that had lower employment rates and "recondition" them for game development and gave examples on the sheer number of jobs that a production can have. I also brought to their attention that it was impossible to know for sure, unless everyone replied to an enquiry honestly, how big was our workforce due to the way that Company and Individual activity codes are accounted on national data.

While we worked together i was asked to make a document regarding macro impacts on the economy, by this time we already had a "pitch deck" to present to the Minister of Economy to officiate the work and get real measures in place, like getting in talks with the biggest brains in our industry like Newell, Carmack and anyone that could help us and get us on the right track, thus breaking the bubble that our industry lives on.

The reason why i decided to publish this, is to show that its not by sending 50+ pages of documents complaining to the government with convoluted language that you get their attention. I wanted to show that even tho i have experience, there were others that had way, way more and that i vividly recommended our government to talk to, get the knowledge, ask for their help. Education is one of the biggest keys in this and its by intervening early that you can start to see results in the next generations.

I then prepared a presentation where i condensed all this info in a powerpoint to share with the secretaries of state and the minister of economy and its staff

I am sick of my friends leaving my country in search of good conditions and employment oportunities.
I am sick of education establishments giving crappy\unregulated courses\knowledge to students, that come out of there the majority of them unhireable, and thus give up.
I want to help this change
